Shooting Stars: Scholarships

We are truly proud of our 9 scholarship students this year!

Fikiswa is our only university student at the moment, studying Social Work in Mthatha. She is enjoying her course immensely and doing very well! Although theory isn't her favourite, it is the practical work that inspires her and touches her heart.

Tony, Grade 11 and always a force to be reckoned with, is going to Hudson Park in East London this year. We are very proud of him, especially of the fact that he managed to organise it all on his own. Go Tony!

Siphesande, Grade 11, completed her first year away from home at St John's, Mthatha in 2009. Her grades were good, especially considering all the changes and difficulties she faced.

Our five Young Angels (Grade 10), Asiphe, Nosisa, Phateka, Zikhona and Zintle were all smiles when they left in their brand new uniforms for Daledyebo High School.

The first term was hard as they struggled to adapt to the new environment, being away from home and some serious studying. However, as we knew they would, our Angels did their best and are working hard and loving it.

We are sure that they will have the time of their lives whilst making the most of the opportunity to change it.

Musa, 8 was fortunate enough to get a scholarship to go to St Patrick's in Mthatha.

Even though he was a little scared about the new adventure, he was very excited about the opportunity and we know he is going to do great things! In fact, he impressed his new school so much, that within the first few days, he was promoted from Grade 2 to 3! In the end, however, they decided that, although he might be academically ready for this challenge, he might not be mature enough to handle the change so at the moment, he is soaring through Grade 2 like an eagle!
